Of all the many objects I love in my home, the wooden objects hold a special place in my heart. I like caring for them, the feel of them, their usefullness. Take good care of your wood objects and they will last a long time! Here is a list of wood objects I am loving right now:
1. Handmade and turned wooden rolling pins by Harriet + Grace. This is my favorite rolling pin and the father-daughter duo who make these beautiful objects are too cute.
2. Handmade paper seed pot maker by Lee Lees Closet. Recycle your left over newspaper and make your own seed pots that you can plant right into the ground. This turned wooden mold and press make it easy.
3. Bread dough troughs. These were used frequently between 1800 -1850 for bread making. The dough would be kneaded in the trough. The wood made for a warmer surface for the bread to then rise on. You can find one online at Lehman's or scour antique shops and find a vintage one if you are lucky!
4. The beautiful wooden wares of the Wilson family, such as this lovely handcarved necklace out of reclaimed Myrtle Wood with handcarved scrimshaw inlay available in their shop.
5. This is on the dream to-do list: make a salvage barnwood head board. Gorgeous isn't it?
6. Blackcreek Mercantile cutting boards. Handmade from domestic woods that are sustainably harvested, each cut from a single piece of wood. Almost too beautiful to use, but the more you do, the more beautiful they become.
Do you have any wood objects near and dear to your heart?
