FULL MOON & LUNAR ECLIPSE in Aries | September 27, 2015
"Sometimes I get lonesome for a storm. A full-blown storm where everything changes."
— Joan Baez
This it is. The big one. A Full Moon with huge opportunities that only comes around rarely and is our chance to snatch up the BIG energy that comes with it. It will be the second and closest super moon of the year - super moons occur when the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit and thus, appearshuge in the sky. Not only that, there will be a full lunar eclipse, that will last a little over an hour and be visible to North and South America, Europe, Africa, and parts of West Asia and the eastern Pacific. A noticeable shadow will begin to fall on the moon at 9:07 p.m., and the total eclipse will start at 10:11 p.m EDT.
It will feel strong and powerful - affecting our energy levels, the tides and may disrupt our sleep rhythms. The Moon will be in Aries, the warrior. What are you willing to fight for right now? Aries energy can help jump start what needs initiating. Several themes have emerged with this moon - one being the opportunity to uncover and act on your authenticity, individuality and uniqueness. It really is time to be yourself - your quirky, weird, full expressed self. If not now, when? Because another message with this moon is that its not just for yourself that you must be free from any shame or inhibitions of authenticity, but it is for the greater good. It will be to the benefit of those around you - your friends, family and community. Because that is the great fear, that when we express and act on our true selves, we will be shunned or ridiculed or left behind. But here is the opportunity to emerge as our true selves in total confidence. Aries energy is wonderful for leading the way and showing that no, we will not fall apart if we act or speak on our truths. In fact, we open the door for others to follow with their own expressions of truth, inspired by the raw power of our actions. This is one of the great gifts of Aries. To pave the way for others.
Called the Blood Moon because of the red hue the moon will take on from the atmospheric affects of the eclipse, Full Moons always shed light on what needs uncovering. The added energy of the eclipse allows for deeper work into our depths and shadows. Working with the Aries energy can make this process less fearful where we meet our shadows head on. We may just find that our shadows weren't the things we needed to run away and hide from, but rather these were simply our truths that we weren't ready to face, express or voice. So get ready, because sometimes we need to be shaken out of roots that are holding us down and keeping us small. If not now, when?
